New Degree Offerings Available at Mansfield University
August 14, 2018
MANSFIELD – With a goal of being responsive to changing needs for both students and their future employers, Mansfield University has announced five newly-approved degree programs, Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford/Potter) announced this week.
“I was thrilled to see the announcement from Pennsylvania’s State System of Higher Education (PASSHE) that Mansfield University has been approved for some exciting new degree offerings,” Owlett said. “These new programs are in some notably high-demand fields. I’m confident that graduates in these programs will be on a road toward career success, while they offer strong qualifications to employers in Pennsylvania and beyond.”
The five newly-approved degree programs at Mansfield University are a Bachelor of Science degree in respiratory care (replacing an associate degree in the same field); Associate of Science degrees in business administration, chemical technology and substance use and behavior disorder counseling; and an Associate of Applied Science degree in health education.
“While Mansfield University has an extremely strong offering of Bachelor’s degree programs, I’m impressed by their expansion of two-year associates offerings,” Owlett said. “These are a shorter pathway for students to establish a strong entry point into careers, and some of these programs even have an online track. Mansfield is doing a great job of making advanced education a more doable option for adults already in the workforce.”
In addition, the Chancellor’s Office at PASSHE has approved a newly reorganized program, an Associate of Applied Science in environmental technology, with an optional concentration in Safety Management. The university has also recently reactivated its Associate of Science in computer information systems.
Prospective students can learn more about all degree offerings at Mansfield University. According to the university’s admissions office, the AAS Health Education and BS Respiratory Care programs will accept applications for Fall 2019 enrollment, while the other programs are accepting applications for enrollment immediately.
