Game Commission Night – A Night of Learning
We had a great turnout for Game Commission Night last Tuesday at Pepper’s Auction Barn, bringing together community members, outdoor enthusiasts, and local Game Commission officials for an informative evening. Attendees had the opportunity to learn more about Pennsylvania’s elk population, while also learning from local officials.
The evening provided a meaningful opportunity for education, conversation and connections, highlighting the importance of preserving Pennsylvania’s natural resources while supporting responsible recreation. We appreciate everyone who took the time to attend and be part of the discussion.
For those unable to join us, you can watch the video here.

A Hidden Gem: Cedar Mountain Springs
Recently I had the opportunity to tour the operations at Cedar Mountain Springs here in Tioga County. During my visit, Hasan Fazelbhoy shared the story behind discovering this historic mineral facility, which is tucked deep in the woods and surrounded by rivers and springs.
Originally built in 1987, the facility sat idle for years until Hasan took on the challenge of restoring it. Through hard work and dedication, he revitalized Cedar Mountain Springs and officially began bottling water again in 2025. He sought a team of water experts to help him preserve this rare natural resource. Hasan focused on stewardship and how he could protect, share and build something that reflected both quality and integrity.
It was a special treat to sample this refreshing, pure water, bottled in individual glass bottles. Naturally alkaline and rich in minerals, Cedar Mountain Springs water contains no additives and is proudly bottled right here in Pennsylvania. This is just one more example of a Pennsylvania product that reflects our heritage.
Recently, they participated in the 35th Annual Berkeley Springs Water Tasting event, helping put Cedar Mountain Springs on the map and growing its popularity.

A Sweet Tradition at Fairview Farms
Friday marked the first day of spring, and it didn’t quite feel like it while I was talking about ice cream with Josh and Ashley Shedden last week. The couple share a passion for ice cream and their community. In 2022, they expanded the rich 75-year history of Fairview Farms by opening a creamery to serve locally made ice cream. Josh, a fourth-generation dairy farmer and ice cream maker, has developed a deep love for the industry and takes pride in continuing the family tradition. Together, they are committed to producing exceptional, made-from-scratch ice cream using locally sourced, farm-fresh ingredients that their community has come to expect and enjoy.
It was great to have a camera crew there capturing the production, and I look forward to sharing more soon – just in time for warmer days and ice cream season!

United Way Victory Breakfast

Pictured here: Board Chair Stacee Harer, Me, Rep. Tina Pickett,
Executive Director Roberta Coleman and Community
Outreach Coordinator Lissa Clayborn. |
I recently attended the United Way of Bradford County’s Victory Breakfast, where we celebrated the results of its recent fundraising campaign, announcing that more than $500,000 has been raised to support the community. It is inspiring to see so many individuals and organizations working together to support families and improve lives.
I appreciated the opportunity to share a few words and reflect on the importance of humility, generosity and servant leadership. These are values that are clearly reflected throughout the organization.
Thank you to everyone who continues to give their time and resources to strengthen Bradford County.

Strengthening PA’s Competitiveness
The House Republican Policy Committee was in Franklin County this week to hold a hearing titled “Built in Pennsylvania: Strengthening Industrial Competitiveness.”
The hearing aimed to examine how policymakers can ensure Pennsylvania’s regulatory environment, energy policies and infrastructure systems support, rather than hinder, the ability of employers to compete and grow in Pennsylvania.
Testifiers included Mike Reed, vice president and general manager of North America operations for Manitowoc Cranes, Shady Grove; Gustavo Casagrandi, general manager for Volvo Construction Equipment; and Mike Ross, president of the Franklin County Area Development Corporation.
Video of the hearing is available here. To keep up with the latest news from the committee, visit them on Facebook, Instagram, X or TikTok.
