December 12, 2025

HARRISBURG – A $9,000 grant has been awarded to the Tioga County Historical Society, Rep. Clint Owlett (R-Tioga/Bradford) announced today.

The grant was awarded by the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission (PHMC) through its Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program.

“Tioga County has a rich history, and we are blessed by the folks at the Tioga County Historical Society who work so hard to both preserve and share that history,” Owlett said. “I’m pleased to see them receive this grant so they can continue their mission in our county and communities.”

The Tioga County Historical Society operates the Robinson House Museum and the Ladd Genealogical and Historical Research Library at 120 Main St. in Wellsboro. It is open Monday though Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m., except for federal holidays. The society also operates the Tioga County Farm, Mine and Lumber Museum at the fairgrounds in Whitneyville, and the
Osceola Blockhouse and 1835 log house in Osceola Township.

The Cultural and Historical Support Grant Program provides general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and historical societies not directly supported by other state programs. Grants are awarded on a formula based on a percentage of the organization’s annual operating budget. Funding was awarded to 177 organizations in 59 of the state’s 67 counties.
