Grand Canyon FFA
Last week, members of the Grand Canyon FFA came to Harrisburg for the annual State Legislative Conference. I was able to join up with the students, and we visited the House chamber, where we talked about government and the legislative process. It is awesome seeing such strong agriculture leaders emerging in our area.

Off the Football Field and Onto the House Floor
The Troy High School Football Team has made our community proud! I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to meet these young men and celebrate their PIAA State Championship at the state Capitol last week. Their families and friends joined them in the House chamber for formal recognition of their hard work and achievements, followed by lunch and a tour of the Capitol building. It was a pleasure to interact with the team, sharing stories and acknowledging their exceptional accomplishment—the school's first state championship title. The team and coaching staff’s dedication and hard work are commendable!

Dupont Specialty Products, USA in Towanda
 |
Pictured Here: Manufacturing Manager Steve Beers, me,
Rep. Tina Pickett and Plant Leader Taylor Myer. |
Last week, Rep. Tina Pickett and I toured the DuPont plant in Towanda. Manager Steve Beers and Plant Leader Taylor Myer provided a detailed explanation of the production facility. Dupont employs about 200 employees from our community, and Rep. Pickett and I were amazed by the work they are doing there. You probably aren’t aware of all that takes place right here in Towanda. Dupont makes cyril for the packaging industry, pyramid for the flexible circuit industry, holographic for the authentication industry and film for ink jet printers.
Dupont has a strong commitment to quality, safety and a clean work environment. As we talked with employees, it was clear they enjoy their work and have a strong feeling of accomplishment. The company boasts 52 years with NO work-loss injuries, a true testament of a supportive work culture.
It is awesome seeing all the opportunities right here and how DuPont’s innovations are shaping the future!

Checks are in the Mail for Money Match Program Recipients
The Pennsylvania Money Match initiative, which automatically returns certain unclaimed property from the state, is disbursing more than $1.7 million to its rightful owners this week.
According to Pennsylvania Treasurer Stacy Garrity, 7,380 checks are being issued in this first round of the Money Match program. In May, as many as 40,000 additional checks could be issued to single owners of unclaimed property valued at up to $500, following a thorough identification and verification process.
This program was made possible by the bipartisan passage of Senate Bill 24, which was signed into law as Act 81 of 2024.
Pennsylvanians are encouraged to check the state’s unclaimed property database for any property valued at more than $500 that may be owed to them. A more formal claim process must be followed to have that property returned.
You need not pay anyone to help reunite you with property that belongs to you. For assistance with an unclaimed property claim, please contact my Wellsboro office at 570-724-2168 or my Troy office 570-297-3045.
